Syd's first Jazz game!

We took the kids to a Jazz game in March. It was fun! One of my wish list items in life is to have season tickets, maybe someday!

This cracked me up, I think we had 20 kids, and it was one heck of a pile of shoes!

It didn't last long! They had fun I think, here are most of them.

In December Kenna hosted her first boy/girl party, it was so much fun! She is so lucky to have really great friends that I love having in our home! If all kids were this awesome the world would be a better place!

McKayla got softball gear and more clothes than should be allowed.

here is McKenna, she wanted a softball bat this year, oh not just any softball bat it HAD to be a 2010 Easton Synergy. After Santa got her that he was broke! :) She was very happy and had better hit many home runs!

Christmas was great this year! We had all the usual family parties(my favorite) and Santa(Syd's favorite) and the kids got everything they could want! We are very blessed and this Christmas we really tried to keep the spirit in our holiday, it made it all the better!

In November we went to Disneyland, we had never been there at Christmas time and it was so neat! We tried to beat the Thanksgiving rush, but didn't quite make it, and it was crowded! But we had a great time! We drove for the first and last time! It wasn't horrible, just something I don't care to do again! :) But I am all too aware that one of these days McKenna isn't going to want to go places with us, and so for now I'll go every time we can and continue to make great memories! (Also if one of the pictures is sideways, it's because I couldn't get it to cooperate and it's late so I gave up!)

So we just got back from Fairview, another get together is over they just go by way too fast! We had an "auction" that was way fun, the picture with Todd is when he "auctioned" off Hayes, he was a very popular item! The only sad part was missing those who could't be there! Jed, Leslie, and family, you were very missed and we were all thinking of you! The pinatas were a blast, the impromtu water balloon fight was a riot! Grandma won I think? And of course the food was awesome as always! I think we should totally start a Gordon Family cookbook! Anyways, I hope this is a tradition that goes on for many years, and next year my hope is that everyone is there healthy and safe! Taylor Swift Concert!

OMG Taylor Swift touched us!! And they both cried!!

We had great seats! I had to zoom in little but we were pretty close!

Last night my friend Sue and I took our girls, McKenna, McKayla, Sydnee, Tawnie, and Taylie, to the Taylor Swift concert in Salt Lake. McKenna and Taylie are best friends and were cooking up this idea since last year when they heard she was coming to town. They had everything planned from eating first at Tepanyaki, to the concert, to Jamba Juice after! Unfortunately Jamba Juice closes early but the rest worked according to their plan! I've been to many concerts in my life and I have to say I have never seen anything like this! It was at the Energy Solutions Arena(still the Delta Center to me!) and it was sold out, so you can imagine the sound level was crazy! But she puts on one heck of a concert with a dozen outfit changes and an amazing stage that changes with each song. It was a blast, but the best parts were watching my girls, watch their idol! McKenna is never washing her arm again because Taylor actually came right down the aisle we were sitting on and Taylor touched McKenna's arm and her friend Taylie's hand! OMG! Thanks to Brandt(and his ticket "agent") for getting us great seats! It was truly something I know these girls will remember forever!

Dance Review!

Tonight was Dance Factory's dance review. McKayla had 5 dances, and Sydnee performed 3. It was so fun, McKayla has such an amazing talent and it's fun to have people come up and tell us how fun she is to watch. I may try posting a video but I've never done that before so we'll see. Sydnee's age is just to fun to watch! It never fails there's at least one kid that just stands there and bawls! I'm just glad it's never been mine. Macfarland's did these darling pictures, thanks guys! This is McKayla's ballet costume, she also has a hip hop dance and costume and a tap dance and costume, the cute boy is her clogging partner, wish I could think of his name! They are a dang good pair! Anyways, I'm glad to have a break for a month or two but it was a fun night and thanks Grandma Thurza, and Nana and Earl for coming to watch!

This is what we did this weekend! It was the Icebreaker softball season opener tournament in Logan. Both Mckayla and McKenna's teams were in the tournament, and 2 days and 12 games later McKenna's team the Stealerz came out as champions!! It was a long couple of days but so much fun and such awesome weather!! We couldn't ask for a better coaching staff they are so awesome! And I want to thank Toni and Trevor for coming and supporting our girls it was so nice to have some support there and someone to cheer with!! Love you guys! Way to go Stealerz! Can't wait till next weekend!!

Last weekend we went down to Lindon to have a barbeque with my friends from high school, the cook out was at Clark and Amanda (Fish) Pew's and we had a blast! Colleen(Mitchell)and Micheal Carrassco were there with their kids, and it is so fun that we can get together and have our kids get to know each other! We can't wait to do it again!

So my awesome sister in law Kim was able to get us tickets to Wicked!! We had such a good time! We had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and it was amazing, then came Wicked! My mom and I saw it on Broadway last year when we went to New York, and I was so excited for my girls to go. It was awesome! I am so jealous of those amazing actors and their incredible voices! It was such a fun time, Aunt Stephannie, Grandma Thurza, Kim, Kim's sister in law Lori, and me and my girls are in these pictures. I hope we can do this again soon it was the best!

Wednesday we took Jace to the MTC. It was pretty strange to see him walk through that door and go his way, but I'm very proud of him for the choices that he's made! He's a good kid! I'm sure the people in San Jose will love him!

Disneyland '09

We got back last night from our trip to California. It was fun as always! We didn't want to come home! We really didn't want to be home when we saw the snow! Ah Utah in the spring! We spent 4 days in Disneyland and California Adventure, which I have to say I think our kids like the California Adventure even more than Disneyland now?! I think it's just a little more grown up or something. I am a Disneyland girl though! I love it! I love the way it makes you feel like a kid again and all the sights and smells, and tastes, mmm churros! Anyways, I can't wait to go back next year, and I have to say that the only good thing about your kids getting older is that we could go on all the rides this year. Sydnee is tall enough for everything we wanted to do so that was fun. We also spent a day in Long Beach, we went to the Pacific Rim Aquarium, it was neat but extremely crowded! We spent a day(or half a day) at the beach, it was a nice day like 73 degrees but down by the water the wind was blowing so it got kind of chilly! And I have to give an unpaid advertisement to the Hampton Inn and Suites, if you are going to Anaheim you seriously should look into staying here! They are so friendly and the beds ROCK! Which is the most important part to me! We have to have a suite cuz we have so many kids but it's nice cuz there is a kitchen and it has two seperate rooms so if someone wants to sleep they can and you can watch tv or whatever in the living room area. And it's right on Harbor Blvd so it's close to Disneyland. Anyways, we had a blast, it was so good to see the sun and wear flip flops for a while!

It has been forever since I posted and yesterday I got to take Sydnee to the doctor and the dentist yes all in one day! And I just have to brag about her! First off I have to brag that in 4 kids I have never had to take one of them to a pediatric dentist, they have just always been so good at the regular dentist! And poor Syd had 2 little cavities so I took her to the dentist and of course he was behind and had a few problems with other patients, but Syd sat there for an hour and a half, had her two cavities filled, she even had a numbing shot and never made a peep! I was so proud of her! We then had to go to the doctor cuz her sweet little playmate gave her a bad cough, no fun. And again she just climbs up on the table thing and answers all the questions and acts so big. I'm so lucky! She is just a good kid, our dentist can't believe how good she is either! Anyways, I can't forget about the other 3! Kenna is doing so well in school, she is a 4.0 student and is so good about her school work, she has a big group of darling friends that we have so much fun running around! She is so pretty, and I happen to know a few boys are chasing her but she's still running from them! YAY! McKayla on the other hand totally let's them catch her! ha She is also doing really well in school, she and Kenna are doing the competitive cheer and their squad just qualified for nationals but their coach decided not this year which is fine. They are also starting up softball again, Kayla actually practiced all winter with her team. She is clogging and dancing, and just busy! Colby just got done with Jr Jazz. His team finished with the worst record probably ever but they had fun! He is doing so well in school and is quite a good little reader I must say! He loves scouts and playing with all our neighbor boys! And Syd is still doing dancing even though she does not love going, but she loves pre school which is good since she gets to go another year! And singing- she loves loves singing! Her teacher always has some funny story of something Syd said there, she's quite the story teller, and they are usually embarrassing for me though! She is also really glad it's getting warmer cuz she got to take her new mustang outside and is having a blast giving everyone rides! I'll have to post some pictures soon!

Here is my darling Sydnee, my anxiety ridden child who stresses about everything. So what is she stressing about now you might ask? Santa. McKenna had the BRILLIANT idea when she was babysitting the other night to tell Syd that Santa is watching her all the time, and when Syd said no he isn't cuz I haven't seen him, Kenna told her he watches through the windows! So, now Sydnee is freaked out about this and has cried for the last 3 nights when it's bed time cuz she doesn't want that "dumb, scary,guy" (her words)to see her. And I have caught her closing all the blinds in my house about 10 times a day. Prozac anyone? For Syd not me. Oh and Kenna is free to baby sit this weekend if anyone needs her. ha

Halloween was fun,we made our annual trip to Lake Shore to the trunk or treat at Grandma Thurza's church, then we had dinner and watched Ghost Hunters. Saturday we had our annual pumpkin carving at Grandma Thurza's house. It was a lot of fun as usual, I think Josh won the best carving out of everyone, but McKenna would've been a close second. Thanks to Grandma Maxine for helping her! It was so fun to have Grandma Max come up and spend the evening. The funniest was Kaimbri though! She spent the longest time carving her pumpking and none of us could look it because she wanted it to be a suprise, so when she finally turned it around we all looked at each other and tried not to laugh because all it was was a long line! I think we decided it was a snake. Anyways she had fun and did it all herself! McKayla did a skull with cross bones that turned out cool, Colby tried a spider web, and I had to do Sydnee's because she can't hold still for longer than 30 seconds. Thank you Grandma Thurza for the very good soup, and for taking care of the mess!! And Toby, Tryce, and Hayes we missed you, but we're sure you had a lot of fun at Grandma Barbara's! Next year we'll plan better so we can all be there.

Softball fall season is over. We're kinda sad, although no more 6am Saturday mornings will be ok for awhile. McKenna's team did really well in the tournament, Kayla's struggled, but for a first time team playing together I thought they really did well. I just had to blog tonight and say that a few weeks ago I was feeling a little sad because my baby is 4, and life is going so fast. Well I am now totally fine! I got to tend my friends 1 year old for the last 2 days while she is out of town and holy cow I forgot how hard it is to have little hands everywhere! Also, I am totally out of the grab a diaper before you leave the house phase! I have to say that he is the perfect child and never cries or anything and we loved having him, I just got a really good dose of reality and I must say I am no longer baby hungry,(not that I could do anything about it if I was). Also poor Sydnee's nose was SO out of joint, this afternoon she looked at me, I was holding Kasen, and she flipped her hair back and said, "I am going to Jamie's house, where there aren't any little kids!" I guess she thinks she's thirty or something? But it was cute and I made sure to give her a little extra time tonight after that dang little kid went home!

So my friend Stephanie and I decided we were going to do a Turbo Kick Boot Camp, it's 3 nights a week for 6 weeks and holy cow it just about kicked my butt the first week! But we just finished up week 2 and I am loving it! I've seriously never sweated so much in my life! My hair is dripping when we are done, gross but true! Anyways, I decided I'm going to be sad when it's over because I'm not great at exercising and if it weren't for Steph I probably wouldn't of made it just for the fact that there are always 50 things I could be doing, but we have alot of fun and some great talks in our cars after. Brandt thinks the class lasts till ten but we really get done at nine and we talk till ten! Nobody tell ok!? Also, football is over! YEA! I am so tired of football 5 days a week, it was fun and all but so glad to be done. Now we start fall league fast pitch softall, McKenna and McKayla have double headers on Saturdays in Brigham City, they both lost today but hopefully next week they'll do better! It's kind of tricky for me cuz they play at the same times on different teams but the fields are close together so I stand between the two fields and yell both ways! I'll take pictures next week and post them. I think that's all that is new in our life, just for the record the new swing has made our house the neighborhood park so everyone who warned me that I would have neighbor kids 24/7 you were right! Even if my kids are inside there's kids playing on my swing set. So now I'm getting a fence! I'll outsmart em if it kills me! haha

So here are some more pics from the longest birthday ever! Serious it lasted for 3 days. We had the cousins party Saturday, her actual b-day was Sunday so Matt, Jamie and kids, and Kevin, Steph, and kids came for cake and ice cream, then Monday we had a friends party. Needless to say we are birthday'd out! But it was a way fun time for Syd and that's all that matters! Oh, and thank you Grandma Thurza for making the pink cake on Saturday, that was great!

Sydnee is 4!! Oh man did we have fun, Sydnee took her cousins Laycee, Kaimbri, Becca, Hannah, and Rhielyn to Primrose Retreat in Spanish Fork. They had a blast dressing up, dancing, getting pedi's and mani's, and singing Hannah Montana kareoke! They even had a tea party! It was so much fun to watch them get all dressed up and silly! Luckily Grandma Thurza came and helped out, and Aunt Brittney brought Averi and she even got in on the action. I think Syd will remember this party for a long time!

So a couple of months ago McKenna started wearing my shoes and shirts and stuff which was so weird cuz she shouldn't be big enough to do that yet! But in a matter of like 2 months her foot went from a size 6 to a 7 1/2! So now we can't even share shoes! And I had to post this picture because this morning when I did her hair for the first time I couldn't see what I was doing and she had to sit on the side of the tub so I could reach! She is as tall as me, but way prettier than I ever was!

Sydnee's first day of preschool! I think I was more excited for this day than Syd was, but it is so weird watching your youngest child reach this milestone! Knowing it's the last time you will ever "start" preschool again is kind of sad, but she had a great time, she talked about Ms. Nicole all afternoon, and told everyone she saw all about what they did in school. It was pretty funny though cuz she was pretty mad when I told her there was no bus for preschool. She had it in her mind she would be riding a bus! But I have to admit I got a tear in my eye when she walked out of preschool and she was just a looking for me and when she saw me waiting she came running, I think she missed me!

These are some pics from Island Park, we love to go up there and try to at least 2 times a summer. This last time Josh and my cousin Wayne and his wife Leanna came up and visited for the day. We had an awesome time and hope to get back in September.

In June Mom, Jill, and I went to New York and stayed with Randy and Michelle for a week. It was the best! We saw Wicked on Broadway, the Statue of Liberty, The Museum of Natural History, and tons more. Randy has an apartment right off of Times Square so we were right in on the action. The best was Canal Street, where I bought my fair share of new knock off purses! But it was a great experience, riding the subway and seeing the temple, everyone should go at least once!

The Box Elder County Fair was last week. For those of you who don't know it's like the most exciting thing that happens in our small town all year!! McKenna and McKayla both raised lambs that they exhibited at the livestock show they both got blue ribbons (YEAH!) and they had a lot of fun. We had some very early mornings showing, weighing in, and selling, thank you to Les Schwab and King Trucking (a.k.a. DAD!) for buying the sheep; but we had so much fun and we're all sad it's over for another year.
